Aligarh Muslim University AMU is all set as always to keep the competition really tough for the thousand of aspirants to sneak in a chance to AMU SSC or Diploma in Engineering. Every year around 50,000 applications are received for admissions into not more than 1000 seats making the competition quite healthy and difficult. A planned and strategic study could be of great importance in summing up the chances to
crack the test. Even if you are talented enough, but didn't prepare well according to the test, you may miss the golden chance. So, the first and foremost thing is about knowing the test and the paper pattern. Since it's entirely an Objective type exam, you should be well rehearsed with speed and accuracy at the same time.

The subjects you need to brush-up  are Science, Mathematics and Indo-Islamic Culture. All the three subjects must be strongly prepared, to have the maximum advantage. It has been observed that the students prepare for Mathematics and Science, giving less weightage to Indo-Islamic Culture as it holds less weigtage in the marks in the test. But, don't take it lightly as it accounts for maximum selections. It's worth mentioning that Mathematics and
Science will be surely good for all the cream students, but the selections among them are differentiated on the basis of this Indo-Islamic Culture which is uneven among the students. So, just go for it with same seriousness as the core subjects.

As it's all very well known that the base of the Admission Test is the NCERT Text Book. So first, it should me made sure that you've gone through the NCERT text books of Science and Mathematics Class 9th and 10th. Studying NCERT here doesn't mean the reading or  cramming of the book. It would help only if you've studied the books thoroughly, and understood the concepts elaborated in the book. Do not forget to check out the questions marked in the text in the middle of the chapters; something like Why? How? Get an answer to such questions.

When you are all done with the NCERT, the time comes for something extra that would mark a plus point in your studies. For Mathematics, if you've solved the well known Mathematics book authored by R.D.Sharma, you've already done a lot.Just revise through the book, but again understanding the concepts, and practice a lot, as speed it what matters here. Also you must make sure that the chances of making mistakes are negligible to avoid deduction of marks on the basis of negative marking.

For Science, deeply study the Chemistry and Physics portion. You must be able to grasp the concepts in Chemistry and capable of solving all the exercises of the NCERT book. You may refer S.Chand or Pradeep's Publication for a deep study. Study physics giving more concern on the numerical portion. As for objectives numerical are of great value. maintain accuracy while solving.
